On January 23, 2025, the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology hosted the opening of the exhibition “The Steelworks Through the Lens.” This unique event, organized in collaboration with Zrobotyzowani, ArcelorMittal Warsaw Steelworks, and the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, brought together enthusiasts of technology, industry, and photography, as well as individuals professionally or emotionally connected to the Warsaw Steelworks. We were also honored to host the Friends of the Warsaw Steelworks Association.

The event began with inspiring presentations by Agnieszka Gałka-Woźniak, HR Director at ArcelorMittal Warsaw Steelworks, and Artur Dobosz, Director of Quality and Product Development. They shared the history and modern-day achievements of the steelworks, highlighting how cutting-edge technologies coexist with tradition in one of the most advanced steel plants in Europe.

During the event, young graduates of the Warsaw University of Technology, currently working with the steelworks, shared their experiences and spoke about internship and training opportunities. Their enthusiasm and dedication were contagious, showing how collaboration with such a prestigious facility can open many doors.

The exhibition, featuring photographs from the “The Steelworks Through the Lens” photography competition, captivated all attendees. Each photo told a story—about work, technology, and the people who make it all happen. The main hall, where the photos were displayed, was filled with admiration and reflection.

There were also emotional moments. A professor from the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, who had previously worked at the Warsaw Steelworks, shared his experiences, emphasizing the significant role the steelworks played in his professional life. His words were a touching testament to the strong bonds people have with this place.

The event also included small gifts—gadgets prepared by the organizers were very popular, and conversations at the stands continued long after the official part of the event ended.

The opening of “The Steelworks Through the Lens” was not only an opportunity to showcase the beauty of industry and technology but also a chance to bring together people united by a shared passion and history. This event demonstrated the importance of preserving industrial heritage and inspiring future generations to discover its value.

Thank you to everyone who joined us that day—for the conversations, memories, and inspiration. We hope this is just the beginning of many more shared initiatives!
